FAQ
Short answers to the questions we get most often.
When will your first game come out?
When it's ready. We don't have a public target date, and we'd rather not invent one just to have an answer. When we have a real estimate, we'll publish it on the blog.
What kind of game is it?
We're not saying yet. We'll say when we show it. Readers of the blog will see it first.
Is this the first game you'll have finished?
Yes. We've been making small projects together for nearly a decade without ever seeing one through. This one, we will.
What platforms will it release on?
PC first. Other platforms depend on the game and will be confirmed nearer launch.
Will there be a demo or early access?
No early access. A demo, possibly — we'll decide closer to launch.
Are you hiring?
No. We're a two-person studio by design, and we plan to stay small until the work genuinely demands otherwise. We don't keep a pipeline of CVs.
Do you accept pitches or external work?
No. We build in-house. This is nothing against the people asking — the studio is structured around a small, closed team doing the work directly.
Can I playtest?
Not publicly, yet. When we open playtesting to the outside, we'll announce it on the blog.
Can I make videos or streams of your work when it's out?
Yes, freely, and monetise them however you like. We'll publish a formal policy nearer release if anything about that needs to change.
Do you have a Discord?
A server exists, but it isn't properly set up for public use yet. When it's ready to open, the invite will appear in the footer and we'll mention it on the blog.
Do you sell merch, or have a mailing list?
Neither, at the moment. The blog is the only regular output from the studio; the closest thing to a subscription is to follow it via RSS.
How do I follow what you're doing?
Read the blog. We post when there's something worth saying — no cadence, no filler.
Is Soriva looking for a publisher or external funding?
The studio is independent. We're not actively pitching for publishing or funding, but we'd consider the right partnership on its merits.
Is "Soriva" a family name?
No. The studio is Soriva; the founders are Caius Gale and James Kanaka.
